Final Feedback, for front and middle page spread!

Thank you to all pupils from Kingsley School that help with my feedback, this is what they had to say:




The question they were asked was, could you please look at the content of the front cover, and comment on what you like and dislike. The look at the content of the middle page spread, comment on how it reads, the colours and your general likes and dislikes?



Here are a few responses:



I think its vibrant and exciting, good bright colours, and a good layout.



I like the bright colours in contrast to the black background, the font in the middle page spread is clear to read and the language is understandable and the slang is relevant.



like the black background with the white writing, good use of colour. it is easy to read, attracting attention. the font is quite hard to read, possibly to packed? looks really good though like the pictures.



I like the image on the front cover, it really draws your attention, and the middle page spread is clearly laid out and easy to read.



lots of bright colours, so it stands out, good layout, good attention to detail. Good English on the middle page spread, the font is quite hard to understand. quite a lot of information on a small page.



The writing is too big, therefore the sub headings don't stand out as much I would like. The blue isn't a strong colour for the black background, but I like the images.

I felt that the one in colour wasn't as nice as the one I have produced.

final middle

This is the final middle page spread I created for my Top Notch Tunes magazine.


As you can see I went back to the layout of the first to drafts, I changed colour to black with a glossy print this made it look professional. I also made the main picture black and green giving a glow look.

which has attracted more people to stop and read the content that I have written. more comment about this middle page spread will be going online on Monday morning.

The comments I received were so mixed that I decided to make a completely different version of my middle page spread, this is what I came up with up..


I them passed it around to a focus group who said they didn't like the writing be so pushed up together. they liked the colour scheme but it was to similar to my front cover.

I created a final version of my middle page spread and will be posted on my next post.

I decided to keep the same layout and change the colour then sent it back to a focus group of similar age, I got mixed comments.

James said that "I have made it worse but still liked the layout all the same," I took this yet again on board and looked at changing the colour.

Holly said she liked the colours and they layout, but she isn't the sort of person that would buy this magazine. So I started to look at changing the colour to suit people I intended my magazine for.

This was my first draft, and my focus group didn't like the colour but liked the layout, there wasn't to much writing. It also had a good amount of pictures to draw your attention across the page.


Billy said that "its very attractive but I don't like the colour," i took this on board and changed the colour.
